The truck, the cousins, and our logo

The Mascara cousins in front of their 1950s Shop on Wheels service truck in Florida
Florida, the 1950s. The Shop on Wheels — and the silhouette you'll recognize from our logo.

In the 1950s, our cousins ran a business called the Shop on Wheels. They drove their truck all over Florida fixing cars and trucks — bringing the shop to the customer instead of waiting for the customer to come to them.

The photo itself is family too: our grandfather — Pap, to us — took it, and standing beside him was his son, our dad. These days it's our kids who call him Pap; the name gets handed down. If it sounds familiar, it's on our dark roast. Two of our coffees are named for family: Pap's Dark for our dad and Mom's Decaf for our mom.

Decades later, three more Mascara brothers — Mike, Matt, and Tim — started a coffee company built on the same idea: do good work, and bring it to people's doors. Brothers inspiring brothers, two generations apart.

When it came time to design our logo, we didn't hire an agency. We took the silhouette of our cousins standing in front of their truck, added a coffee cup, and that was that. Every bag we ship carries them with it.

We founded Mascara Bros Coffee in 2022 on three things: Love God. Love people. Love coffee. Every bag is roasted to order and shipped fresh — more than 115,000 mugs served and counting.

Not near our door yet? You can taste our coffee at Nutmeg Café in Dayton, Ohio — we roast the beans they pour. Stop in for a cup, then take a bag home.

Look at the photo, then the logo. Same cousins, same truck — plus one coffee cup.
