Terms of service
Effective August 15, 2026
These are the terms you agree to when you buy coffee from Mascara Bros Coffee. We have tried to write them the way we would explain them to you in person. If anything here is unclear, ask us — we would rather explain it than have you guess.
Orders and prices
Prices are shown on the site in U.S. dollars and are what you pay at checkout, plus shipping and any tax. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order you have already placed.
Now and then a listing may have a mistake in it. If we discover an error in a price or a description on an order you placed, we will contact you and either fix it with your approval or cancel the order and refund you in full.
We roast to order in small batches, so once in a while a coffee runs out. If we cannot fill part of your order, we will tell you and either substitute something you approve or refund that part.
Subscriptions
A coffee subscription renews automatically on the schedule you choose until you cancel it. There is no minimum commitment and no cancellation fee.
- We charge your card on each renewal date and send you a reminder email a few days beforehand — plus a text, if you asked for texts.
- You can skip a delivery, pause, change your coffees, or cancel any time from your account page. Changes take effect on the next renewal, so make them before your renewal date.
- Once a renewal has been charged and the coffee has been roasted, that shipment is on its way. Cancelling stops future renewals rather than recalling an order already in the roaster.
- If we change the price of a subscription, we will tell you before it takes effect and you will have time to cancel.
If a payment fails, we will try again and let you know. If it keeps failing, we may pause the subscription until the card is updated.
Shipping
We roast to order, so your coffee is roasted after you order it and shipped promptly after that — usually within a few days. Delivery times after that are up to the Postal Service. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier takes the package, but see the next section: if it goes wrong, talk to us.
Shipping charges are shown at checkout before you pay. We ship within the United States.
If something is wrong
If your coffee arrives damaged, wrong, or does not arrive at all, contact us and we will make it right — a replacement or a refund, whichever you prefer. Tell us within 30 days of delivery so we can sort it out while everyone still remembers the order.
Because coffee is a food product roasted fresh for each order, we cannot take back opened bags for resale. That does not change the paragraph above: if we got it wrong or it arrived in bad shape, it is on us.
Gift subscriptions
A gift subscription is paid for up front by the giver and runs for the number of deliveries purchased. It does not renew automatically and does not bill the recipient. If a gift recipient wants to keep going afterward, they can start their own subscription.
Wholesale
Cafés and shops order through our wholesale program, which has its own pricing, invoicing, and payment terms agreed with each account. Those agreed terms govern wholesale orders where they differ from this page.
Emails and texts
Order and account messages — confirmations, shipping notices, renewal reminders, payment problems — are part of your order, and we send them whether or not you signed up for marketing.
Marketing emails and texts go only to people who opted in. Unsubscribe from any email, reply STOP to any text, or change your choices under Marketing preferences on your account page. Message and data rates may apply and frequency varies. How we handle your information is described in our privacy policy.
Your account
You sign in with a link we email you, so keep your email account secure — anyone with access to it can manage your subscription. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account.
Please use the site for ordering coffee: do not try to break into it, scrape it, overload it, or use it to break the law. We may suspend or cancel an account that does.
The legal part
We sell coffee and we stand behind it, but we cannot promise the website will never go down or contain a mistake. Except where the law does not allow it, our responsibility for any problem connected to an order is limited to refunding what you paid for that order. Nothing here limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio.
Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date at the top will change when we do. The terms in force when you place an order are the ones that apply to it.
